adAPT NYC – Mixed-Use Micro-units Apartment

adAPT NYC is a part of Mayor Bloomberg's New Housing Marketplace Plan to design and develop the concept of mixed-use Micro-unit buildings to meet the future housing demand for New York City, supplying more affordable one and two person households. This design competition is designated as a pilot project to become a catalyst to stimulate the market sector. The transit-oriented site is located at Manhattan Block 933, Lot 10 on the block bounded by First Avenue, East 28th Street, Mount Carmel Place and East 27th Street in Community District 6. Our design objectives include the development of the linkage between neighboring parks and First Avenue, activation of the adjacent plaza, and promotion of a an ecological lifestyle.
